He loved to write poetry and wrote the poem below for our wedding in June 2008.<\/p>\n<p>I miss you Papy!<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>L\u2019Ouest am\u00e9ricain les a fait se rencontrer<br \/>\nEt la vie qui parfois sait vous jouer des tours<br \/>\nSous le ciel d\u2019Idaho, ils se sont bien trouv\u00e9s<br \/>\nPour conjuguer ensemble ce que l\u2019on nomme l\u2019amour.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel et Lydia<\/p>\n<p>Edifier un futur c\u2019est l\u00e0 leur avenir<br \/>\nDes coeurs pleins de projets, une p\u00e9riode heureuse<br \/>\nV\u00e9cue dans l\u2019all\u00e9gresse, une vie \u00e0 b\u00e2tir<br \/>\nUn chemin de bonheur, une route joyeuse<\/p>\n<p>Daniel et Lydia<\/p>\n<p>Construire une famille sur un mod\u00e8le ancien<br \/>\nEn \u00eatre h\u00e9ritier, ne pas rompre la ligne<br \/>\nAspirer \u00e0 poursuivre pour unique seul bien<br \/>\nLe d\u00e9sire de savoir et d\u2019en demeurer digne<\/p>\n<p>Daniel et Lydia<\/p>\n<p>Chemins riants ou sombres, ils la parcourront<br \/>\nCette vie de bonheur parfois sem\u00e9e de peines<br \/>\nMais quelqu\u2019un leur dira qu\u2019il leur fait tenir bon<br \/>\nQuelqu\u2019un qui les ch\u00e9rit et quelqu\u2019un qui les aime<\/p>\n<p>Daniel et Lydia<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019oc\u00e9an nous s\u00e9pare des \u00eatres qui nous sont chers<br \/>\nCette lointaine Am\u00e9rique qui pourtant les enseigne<br \/>\nVoyageurs en recherche, ils sont loin de leurs p\u00e8res<br \/>\nConsolation pour nous car l\u00e0-bas la foi r\u00e8gne<\/p>\n<p>Daniel et Lydia<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u2014Lucien Foucachon, June 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Here is an English translation which does not do it justice by a long shot. Some of the poetic turns-of-phrase are very hard to translate.
